GP (magazine)

GP is a British medical trade magazine for general practitioners, which was first published in 1963 by Haymarket Media Group. The magazine contains news, opinion, and features relating to the UK's National Health Service and general practice. It also provides educational material for GPs' continuing professional development.

GP was first published in 1963 by Haymarket Media Group. The magazine was initially a fortnightly publication, but it became a weekly in 2001. In 2010, the magazine became a monthly publication, with a new focus on in-depth analysis and opinion, as well as continuing professional development for GPs.

The magazine covers a wide range of topics relevant to general practice, including clinical news, health policy, professional and educational issues. It also includes opinion pieces from leading figures in the medical profession and the wider health sector.

Online presence[edit | edit source]

In addition to the print magazine, GP also has a website, which provides daily news updates and access to an archive of articles from the magazine. The website also offers a range of services for GPs, including a jobs board and a directory of medical services.

The magazine is read by GPs and other healthcare professionals across the UK. According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations, the magazine had an average circulation of 23,467 in 2019.
