Preparation[edit | edit source]

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and ghee. Mix well until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. 2. Add a little water at a time and knead the mixture into a soft dough. 3. Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into round balls. 4. Heat ghee in a deep frying pan over medium heat. 5. Carefully drop the dough balls into the hot ghee and fry them until they turn golden brown. 6. Remove the fried balls from the ghee and drain them on a paper towel to remove excess oil. 7. In a separate saucepan, combine sugar and water to make a sugar syrup. Bring it to a boil until the sugar dissolves completely. 8. Add cardamom powder and saffron strands to the sugar syrup and mix well. 9. Dip the fried balls into the sugar syrup and let them soak for a few minutes. 10. Remove the Makhan Bada from the syrup and serve them hot or at room temperature.

Makhan Bada can be served as a dessert or as a sweet snack. It is often enjoyed with a cup of hot tea or coffee. The rich and sweet taste of Makhan Bada makes it a perfect treat for special occasions and festivals.
