Nandrolone cyclohexanecarboxylate
Nandrolone cyclohexanecarboxylate is a synthetic anabolic steroid and a derivative of testosterone. It is used in the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at a dose of 50 mg every three weeks. It is also used for some aplastic anemias.
Chemical Structure[edit | edit source]
Nandrolone cyclohexanecarboxylate is chemically described as 17β-Hydroxyestr-4-en-3-one 17-cyclohexanecarboxylate. The molecular formula is C26H38O3 and it has a molecular weight of 398.578 g/mol.
Pharmacology[edit | edit source]
Nandrolone has a high anabolic to androgenic ratio. In other words, it has a strong anabolic (muscle building) effect and only a minimal androgenic (male sexual characteristic enhancing) effect. Nandrolone's low androgenic properties are due to the fact that it is metabolized by 5-alpha reductase to less potent compounds.
Side Effects[edit | edit source]
The side effects of Nandrolone cyclohexanecarboxylate include virilization in women, gynecomastia, increased sexual desire, acne, and potential liver damage. It can also cause psychiatric effects such as aggression, mood swings, and depression.
