Oshkosh is a city located in Winnebago County, Wisconsin, United States. It is situated on the western shore of Lake Winnebago, the largest inland lake in the state. With a population of approximately 67,000, Oshkosh is the county seat and the ninth-largest city in Wisconsin.

Oshkosh was originally inhabited by the Menominee people, a Native American tribe. The area was first explored by French fur traders in the late 17th century.
