Princess Alexandrine of Prussia (Alexandrine Irene; 7 February 1915 – 2 October 1980) was a member of the House of Hohenzollern and a Princess of Prussia by birth. She was the daughter of Prince August Wilhelm of Prussia and Princess Alexandra Victoria of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg.
Early life[edit | edit source]
Princess Alexandrine was born on 7 February 1915 in Potsdam, in the Kingdom of Prussia. She was the only child of Prince August Wilhelm of Prussia and Princess Alexandra Victoria of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg. Her father was the fourth son of Kaiser Wilhelm II, the last German Emperor and King of Prussia. Her mother was a member of the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, a cadet branch of the House of Oldenburg.
Marriage and family[edit | edit source]
Princess Alexandrine married on 3 October 1938 to Baron Christian von Humboldt-Dachroeden. The couple had two children:
- Baroness Alexandra von Humboldt-Dachroeden (b. 1939)
- Baron Friedrich von Humboldt-Dachroeden (b. 1942)
Later life[edit | edit source]
After World War II, Princess Alexandrine lived a relatively private life. She resided in Starnberg, West Germany, where she passed away on 2 October 1980.
