Lungs Simple Squamous Epithelium Facilitates gas exchange between the air and blood in the alveoli.
Stomach Simple Columnar Epithelium Secretes digestive enzymes and absorbs nutrients from food.
Intestines Simple Columnar Epithelium Absorbs nutrients from digested food and secretes mucus for lubrication.
Kidneys Simple Cuboidal Epithelium Involved in the filtration and reabsorption of waste products from the blood.
Liver Simple Cuboidal Epithelium Produces bile and detoxifies harmful substances in the body.
Pancreas Simple Cuboidal Epithelium Secretes digestive enzymes and hormones such as insulin.
Gallbladder Simple Columnar Epithelium Stores and concentrates bile produced by the liver.
Bladder Transitional Epithelium Allows for stretching and expansion of the bladder as it fills with urine.
