Wina Born (28 March 1920 – 24 December 2001) was a Dutch culinary journalist and author. She was born in The Hague, Netherlands and died in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Born was raised in The Hague, where she developed her interest in food and cooking.

Career[edit | edit source]

She started her career as a culinary journalist in the 1950s. She wrote for several Dutch newspapers and magazines, including Het Parool and De Telegraaf.

In addition to her journalism career, Born also wrote several cookbooks. Her most notable work is De Grote Kookboeken, a series of cookbooks that have been translated into several languages and are still popular today.

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Born is considered a pioneer in the field of culinary journalism in the Netherlands. She helped popularize foreign cuisines in the Netherlands and inspired many Dutch home cooks to experiment with new recipes and ingredients.
