YES
YES is an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The band is known for its expansive songs, esoteric lyrics, elaborate album art and live stage sets. YES has undergone numerous formations throughout its history; nineteen musicians have been full-time members. Since June 2015, it has consisted of Steve Howe (guitars), Alan White (drums), Geoff Downes (keyboards), Billy Sherwood (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Jon Davison (lead vocals).

YES was formed in 1968 by Chris Squire (bass), Jon Anderson (vocals), Tony Kaye (keyboards), Peter Banks (guitars) and Bill Bruford (drums). They began to experience success after the release of The Yes Album in 1971. Their follow-up Fragile (1971) made YES international stars.
Musical Style and Influence[edit | edit source]
YES's music blends symphonic and other 'classical' structures with their own brand of rock music. They are known for their lengthy songs, mystical lyrics, strong vocal harmonies, and the use of 'classical' instruments like the Mellotron. They have had a strong influence on the genre of progressive rock.
Discography[edit | edit source]
YES has released 21 studio albums, the first, Yes, in 1969 and the most recent, Heaven & Earth, in 2014. They have also released numerous live albums and compilations.
