Zolazepam
Zolazepam (Flupyrazapon) is a pyrazolodiazepinone derivative that is structurally related to the benzodiazepine drugs.
How is it used?[edit | edit source]
It is used primarily as an anaesthetic for a wide range of animals in veterinary medicine.
How is it administered?[edit | edit source]
Zolazepam is usually administered in combination with other drugs such as the NMDA antagonist tiletamine or the adrenergic receptor agonist xylazine, depending on the reason it is being used.
Potency[edit | edit source]
It is around four times the potency of diazepam (0.32 mg/kg versus 1.2 mg/kg in animal models).
Benefits[edit | edit source]
It is both water-soluble and un-ionized at physiological pH.
Onset of action[edit | edit source]
Its onset is very fast.
