Agostinho Neto University (Universidade Agostinho Neto - UAN) is the oldest and one of the most prominent public universities in Angola, located in the capital city of Luanda. Named after the first President of Angola, Agostinho Neto, the university has played a pivotal role in the education and development of the Angolan nation since its inception.

Agostinho Neto University was established in the early 1960s, during the Portuguese colonial era, initially as part of the University of Lisbon. It became an autonomous institution in 1968, known then as the University of Luanda.
