Ajanta Pharma is a multinational company based in India engaged in development, manufacturing, and marketing of pharmaceutical formulations. It has a presence in India, the United States, and about 30 other countries in Africa, Asia, Middle East, and CIS. It was established in 1973.

Ajanta Pharma was founded by Mannalal Agrawal in 1973. The company went public in 2000 and was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE).

Products[edit | edit source]

Ajanta Pharma develops a wide range of pharmaceutical products, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and nutraceuticals. The company's product portfolio includes a range of specialty products in areas of cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, pain management, and respiratory diseases.

The company has a state-of-the-art Research and Development (R&D) center in Mumbai, India, where it develops new drug delivery systems, new dosage formulations, and bio-equivalent drugs.

Ajanta Pharma has five manufacturing facilities; four in India and one in Mauritius. One of the Indian facilities at Paithan, Aurangabad, has received the World Health Organization (WHO) GMP approval.

Ajanta Pharma has a significant presence in India and is expanding its footprint in the United States and other countries. The company exports its pharmaceutical products to over 30 countries.
