Buster Douglas

James "Buster" Douglas (born April 7, 1960) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1981 to 1999. He is best known for his stunning upset victory over Mike Tyson on February 11, 1990, in Tokyo, Japan, to win the undisputed heavyweight championship.

Douglas was born in Columbus, Ohio. He is the son of professional boxer William "Dynamite" Douglas. Growing up in a boxing family, Douglas was introduced to the sport at an early age. He attended Linden McKinley High School and later went to Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio.

Douglas had a successful amateur career before turning professional. He won the Ohio State Fair heavyweight title and the Golden Gloves title, showcasing his potential in the sport.

Douglas made his professional debut on May 31, 1981, with a victory over Dan O'Malley. Over the next few years, he built a solid record, facing various opponents and gaining experience in the ring.
