Cars (franchise) is a American animated media franchise created by John Lasseter, produced by Pixar Animation Studios, and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The franchise began with the original film, Cars, which was released in 2006, followed by two sequels, Cars 2 in 2011 and Cars 3 in 2017. The series has been expanded to include television specials, short films, and a spin-off series.
