D23: The Official Disney Fan Club is the official fan club for The Walt Disney Company. Founded in 2009, the name "D23" refers to Disney and the year 1923, when Walt Disney founded the company. The organization is known for its biennial exposition event, the D23 Expo, and its quarterly publication, Disney twenty-three.

D23 was introduced on March 10, 2009, by Robert Iger, the then-CEO of The Walt Disney Company. The fan club was created to bring Disney enthusiasts closer to the company and its history. The inaugural D23 Expo was held in September 2009 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

D23 offers two levels of membership: General and Gold. General membership is free and includes limited access to D23 content and events. Gold membership, which requires an annual fee, provides additional benefits such as a subscription to Disney twenty-three, exclusive merchandise, and access to special events.

D23 Expo[edit | edit source]

The D23 Expo is a biennial event that serves as the ultimate Disney fan experience. It features presentations from various Disney divisions, including Walt Disney Studios, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Disney Media Networks, and Disney Consumer Products. The event also includes panels, exhibits, and exclusive merchandise.

D23 publishes a quarterly magazine called Disney twenty-three. The magazine features articles on Disney history, interviews with Disney legends, and previews of upcoming Disney projects. It is available exclusively to Gold members.

In addition to the D23 Expo, the fan club hosts various events throughout the year. These include movie screenings, studio tours, and special member-only experiences at Disney Parks and other locations.
