Davis Evan Bedford

Davis Evan Bedford (1909–1978) was a prominent British cardiologist known for his significant contributions to the field of cardiology. He was a pioneer in the use of electrocardiography and made significant advancements in the understanding of heart disease.

Bedford was born in London, England in 1909. He attended the University of London, where he studied medicine. After graduating, he continued his studies in cardiology, a field that was still in its infancy at the time.

Bedford began his career at the London Hospital Medical College, where he worked as a researcher and lecturer. He later moved to the National Heart Hospital, where he served as a consultant cardiologist. Bedford was also a prolific author, publishing numerous articles and books on cardiology. His most notable work, The Bedside Cardiograph, introduced new techniques for the interpretation of electrocardiograms and is still widely used today.
