Denver Health Medical Center is a hospital located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. It was founded in 1860 as City Hospital and has since undergone several name changes, including Denver General Hospital and its current name, Denver Health Medical Center. The hospital is affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine and is one of the primary teaching hospitals in Denver.

Denver Health Medical Center is known for its role as a Level I Trauma Center, one of five in Colorado. It provides specialized care for trauma patients and is equipped with 525 beds. The hospital also has a helipad for emergency medical transport.

Throughout its history, Denver Health Medical Center has been a pioneer in healthcare. It established the first nursing school west of the Mississippi and was an early facility for treating Tuberculosis. The hospital has employed notable healthcare visionaries, including Florence Sabin, who played a key role in creating a functional Public Health department.

In 1989, a book titled "The Knife and Gun Club, Scenes from an Emergency Room" was written about the Denver General emergency room, showcasing the hospital's important role in emergency care.
