Hesburger is a fast food chain based in Turku, Finland. It was established in 1980 by Heikki Salmela and his wife Kirsti, and it has since grown to become the largest fast food chain in Finland and the Baltic countries. Hesburger was originally a small hot dog stand in Naantali, Finland, called "Hese". In 1980, the stand was converted into a hamburger restaurant, marking the birth of Hesburger. The company expanded rapidly throughout the 1980s and 1990s, and by 2000, it had become the largest fast food chain in Finland.
