Jorhat Medical College And Hospital

Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) is a medical college and hospital located in Jorhat, Assam, India. It was established in 2009 and is one of the premier medical institutions in the northeastern region of the country.

The foundation stone of JMCH was laid by the then Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi, on 25th August 2005. The college was officially inaugurated on 12th October 2009. The hospital associated with the college started functioning from 2011.

Infrastructure[edit | edit source]

JMCH is spread over an area of 25 acres and has a built-up area of 45,000 square meters. The college has a 500-bedded hospital, laboratory facilities, lecture halls, library, and hostel facilities for both boys and girls.

Courses[edit | edit source]

JMCH offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various medical specialties. The college is affiliated to the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences.

JMCH has several departments including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Pediatrics, Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, Dermatology, Psychiatry, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anesthesiology, Radiodiagnosis, and Radiotherapy.
