La Trobe University is a public university located in Victoria, Australia. It was established in 1964, making it the third university in the state of Victoria and the twelfth university in Australia. La Trobe is known for its emphasis on research and offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. La Trobe University was named after Charles Joseph La Trobe, the first Lieutenant-Governor of the colony of Victoria.
