Marcela Luz Valladolid Rodriguez (born July 19, 1978) is an American chef and author. She is best known for her role as a host on the Food Network television series Mexican Made Easy and as a co-host on the CBS daytime talk show The Kitchen.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Marcela Valladolid was born in San Diego, California. She grew up in Tijuana, Mexico, where she developed a passion for Mexican cuisine. Valladolid attended the Los Angeles Culinary Institute and later studied at the Ritz Escoffier Cooking School in Paris, France.

Career[edit | edit source]

Marcela Valladolid began her culinary career as a recipe editor and food stylist for Bon Appétit magazine. She gained prominence with her first cookbook, "Fresh Mexico: 100 Simple Recipes for True Mexican Flavor," which was published in 2009. The success of her cookbook led to her hosting the Food Network show Mexican Made Easy, which focused on traditional Mexican recipes with a modern twist.

In 2014, Valladolid joined the cast of The Kitchen, a daytime talk show on CBS, where she co-hosted alongside Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee, Jeff Mauro, and Geoffrey Zakarian. The show features cooking demonstrations, food-related discussions, and guest appearances by other chefs and celebrities.

Marcela Valladolid has three children. She is known for her advocacy of authentic Mexican cuisine and often incorporates her cultural heritage into her cooking.
