Mellow Mushroom

Mellow Mushroom is a pizza restaurant chain that was established in Atlanta, Georgia in 1974. The founders were three college students from Georgia Tech who wanted to create a unique, eclectic pizza experience. The restaurant is known for its creative pizza combinations, craft beer selection, and vibrant, psychedelic-themed decor.

The first Mellow Mushroom restaurant was opened by Marc Weinstein, Mike Nicholson, and Chuck Watson. The three friends were inspired by their love of pizza and their desire to create a fun, laid-back dining experience. The restaurant quickly gained popularity for its unique pizzas and relaxed atmosphere.

Mellow Mushroom's menu primarily consists of pizza, but also includes a variety of other dishes such as calzones, hoagies, and salads. As of 2021, there are over 150 Mellow Mushroom locations across the United States. The majority of these are in the South, but the chain has been steadily expanding into other regions.

Mellow Mushroom is known for its vibrant, psychedelic-themed decor, which is a nod to the founders' college days in the 1970s. Each restaurant is uniquely decorated, with murals, sculptures, and other artwork that reflect the local culture and history of its location.
