Mirage (chocolate)

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Mirage is a chocolate bar produced by Nestlé. It is primarily available in Canada, and is known for its distinctive bubbly texture.

History[edit | edit source]

The Mirage chocolate bar was first introduced to the Canadian market by Rowntree's in the 1980s. In 1988, Nestlé acquired Rowntree's, and with it, the Mirage brand. Since then, Mirage has been produced and distributed by Nestlé Canada.

Description[edit | edit source]

Mirage is a full-size chocolate bar that weighs 41 grams. It is made from milk chocolate and is aerated, giving it a unique, bubbly texture. The bar is divided into segments, making it easy to break apart and share.

Production[edit | edit source]

The production of Mirage involves a process known as chocolate aeration, where gas is introduced into the chocolate during the manufacturing process. This results in the formation of tiny bubbles within the chocolate, giving Mirage its characteristic light, bubbly texture.

Packaging[edit | edit source]

The Mirage chocolate bar is wrapped in a distinctive gold foil wrapper, with the Mirage logo prominently displayed. The wrapper also features an image of the aerated chocolate, highlighting the bar's unique texture.

Reception[edit | edit source]

Mirage has been well received in Canada, with many consumers appreciating its unique texture and rich, milk chocolate flavor. It is often compared to other aerated chocolate bars, such as Aero, also produced by Nestlé.
