Mumm

Mumm is a brand of Champagne produced by G.H. Mumm & Cie, a Champagne producer based in the Reims region of France. The company is owned by Pernod Ricard.

G.H. Mumm & Cie was established in 1827 by three brothers, Jacobus, Gottlieb and Philipp Mumm, German winemakers from the Rheingau region, and G. Heuser and Friedrich Giesler in the early 19th century as P.A.Mumm, in the German city of Rheims. The Mumm brothers had already established a reputation for producing quality wines in Germany in the early 19th century.

Production[edit | edit source]

Mumm produces a range of champagnes under the Cordon Rouge label, in styles that include Brut, Rosé, and Demi-Sec. Mumm also produces a Blanc de Blancs made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes and a Blanc de Noirs made from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes.

Mumm is a major sponsor of Formula 1 racing and has been the official champagne supplier for the podium since 2000.
