Nakaseke General Hospital

Nakaseke General Hospital is a public hospital located in Nakaseke, a town in the Central Region of Uganda. The hospital is administered by the Uganda Ministry of Health and is one of the general hospitals in the country that provide healthcare services to the local population.

The hospital is situated in the town of Nakaseke, approximately 66 kilometers by road, northwest of Kampala, the capital and largest city of Uganda. The geographical coordinates of Nakaseke General Hospital are: 0°44'24.0"N, 32°23'24.0"E.

Nakaseke General Hospital is a public hospital, funded by the government of Uganda. The hospital provides general medical services, surgery, maternity care, and pediatrics among other services. It serves as a referral hospital for the smaller health units in Nakaseke District and neighboring areas.

The hospital offers a range of services including outpatient services, inpatient services, maternal and child health services, HIV/AIDS testing and treatment, malaria treatment, tuberculosis treatment, and immunization services. It also provides emergency medical services and has a pharmacy that dispenses medicines to patients.

Challenges[edit | edit source]

Like many public hospitals in Uganda, Nakaseke General Hospital faces several challenges including inadequate funding, shortage of medical supplies, and a high patient to doctor ratio. Despite these challenges, the hospital continues to provide essential healthcare services to the population in and around Nakaseke.
