PetMed Express is an American online pharmacy that sells prescription and non-prescription pet medication. The company was founded in 1996 and is based in Delray Beach, Florida. PetMed Express operates through its subsidiary, PetMed Express, Inc., and its website, 1-800-PetMeds.

PetMed Express was founded in 1996 by Marc Puleo, a veterinarian. The company initially operated as a mail-order business, but quickly transitioned to the internet in 1997. In 2005, PetMed Express was named in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, a list of the fastest-growing technology companies in North America.

PetMed Express operates as a direct-to-consumer online pharmacy, selling both prescription and non-prescription pet medications. The company offers a wide range of products, including flea and tick treatments, heartworm preventatives, pain relief medications, and dietary supplements for dogs and cats. PetMed Express also sells products for horses and other large animals.

In 2009, PetMed Express settled allegations from the United States Department of Justice that it had sold prescription drugs without valid prescriptions. The company agreed to pay $10 million in fines and to implement stricter controls over its sales practices.

PetMed Express is a publicly traded company listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the ticker symbol "PETS". The company reported revenues of $273.6 million in the fiscal year 2020.
