Pizza Inn was founded in 1958 by two Texas brothers, F. J. Spillman and Joe Spillman, in Denison, Texas. The company was incorporated as Pizza Inn, Inc., in 1966 and began franchising its operations in 1967. In 1984, the company was sold to Pantera's Pizza, a competitor, but regained its independence in 1986.
