Plague of Sheroe
The Plague of Sheroe (627-628) was an epidemic that devastated the western provinces of the Sasanian Empire, mainly Mesopotamia, killing half of its population, including the reigning Sasanian king (shah) which the plague is named after, Kavad II Sheroe (r. 628).[1] [2] It contributed to the fall of the Sasanian Empire.
