RTI-83

RTI-83 is a psychoactive drug and research chemical that belongs to the phenyltropane class of stimulants. It is primarily used in scientific research and has not been approved for medical use. RTI-83 is structurally similar to cocaine, but with a different binding affinity for the dopamine transporter.

Chemistry[edit | edit source]

RTI-83 is a member of the phenyltropane class of stimulants, which are known for their high potency and selectivity for the dopamine transporter. The chemical structure of RTI-83 includes a tropane ring, a common feature in this class of drugs. The tropane ring is a seven-membered ring with a nitrogen atom and two carbon atoms. The structure of RTI-83 also includes a phenyl ring, which is a six-membered ring with five carbon atoms and one hydrogen atom.

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

The primary mechanism of action of RTI-83 is the inhibition of the dopamine transporter. This results in an increase in the concentration of dopamine in the synaptic cleft, leading to increased dopamine activity. RTI-83 has a high binding affinity for the dopamine transporter, which means it binds to the transporter with a high degree of specificity and potency.

Research Use[edit | edit source]

As a research chemical, RTI-83 is used in scientific studies to investigate the role of the dopamine transporter in various physiological and pathological processes. It is also used as a reference compound in the development of new drugs targeting the dopamine transporter.

Safety and Legal Status[edit | edit source]

RTI-83 is not approved for medical use and is not considered safe for human consumption. Its legal status varies by country, and it may be illegal to possess, distribute, or manufacture without a license.
