Ralph Lee Abraham, Jr. (born September 16, 1954) is an American politician, physician, and former military pilot who served as the U.S. Representative for Louisiana's 5th congressional district from 2015 to 2021. A member of the Republican Party, Abraham was first elected to Congress in 2014.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Ralph Lee Abraham was born in Alto, Louisiana, and grew up in a rural setting. He pursued his higher education at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he earned a degree in Animal Science. Following his undergraduate studies, Abraham attended the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, obtaining his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. His passion for serving others led him to further his education in medicine, and he earned his M.D. from the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Before embarking on his political career, Abraham served in the United States National Guard, where he was trained as a pilot.
