Keith Rupert Murdoch (born 11 March 1931) is an Australian-American media proprietor. He is the founder of News Corp, a global media conglomerate. Murdoch's career began in the 1950s when he took over the management of The News, a small newspaper in Adelaide, South Australia.

Murdoch was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, to Sir Keith Murdoch and Dame Elisabeth Murdoch. He attended Geelong Grammar School and later studied at Worcester College, Oxford.
