Tezpur Medical College And Hospital

Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH) is a medical institution located in Tezpur, Assam, India. Established in 2013, it is one of the premier medical institutions in the northeastern region of the country. The college is affiliated with the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences and is recognized by the Medical Council of India.

The foundation stone for Tezpur Medical College and Hospital was laid in 2008 by the then Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi. The college was officially inaugurated in 2013, with the aim of providing quality medical education and healthcare services to the people of Assam and the surrounding regions.

Campus[edit | edit source]

The campus of TMCH is spread over an area of 35 acres. It includes the main college building, hospital, hostels for students, staff quarters, and other ancillary buildings. The college has a well-equipped library with a vast collection of medical books and journals.

Courses[edit | edit source]

TMCH offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various medical specialties. The undergraduate course is MBBS, which is a five-year course including one year of compulsory internship. The postgraduate courses include MD and MS in various specialties.

Hospital[edit | edit source]

The hospital associated with TMCH is a 500-bedded facility providing a range of healthcare services. It has various departments such as General Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dermatology, Psychiatry, and Radiology.
