The University of Tehran (Template:Lang-fa), also known as UT, is a public research university located in Tehran, Iran. Established in 1934, it is the oldest modern university in Iran and is often referred to as "Iran's mother university". The University of Tehran was founded in 1934 by the order of Reza Shah Pahlavi, the then ruler of Iran.
