Valyantsin Byalkevich

Valyantsin Byalkevich (Belarusian: Валянцін Былькевіч; 27 January 1973 – 1 August 2014) was a prominent Belarusian footballer and coach, known for his technical skills, vision, and ability to score from midfield. Throughout his career, Byalkevich played primarily as a midfielder, contributing significantly to the teams he was part of, most notably FC Dynamo Kyiv and the Belarus national football team.

Valyantsin Byalkevich was born in Minsk, Belarus, and began his football career with local clubs before making a name for himself at Dinamo Minsk. His talent quickly became apparent, leading to a move to Ukrainian giants FC Dynamo Kyiv in 1996, where he would spend the bulk of his career.

At FC Dynamo Kyiv, Byalkevich became an integral part of the team's success during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Under the management of Valeriy Lobanovskyi, Dynamo Kyiv experienced a renaissance, with Byalkevich playing a key role in their domestic and European campaigns. He was known for his exceptional passing ability, creativity, and knack for scoring goals from midfield. During his time at Dynamo, Byalkevich won multiple Ukrainian Premier League titles and Ukrainian Cups, and was instrumental in the team's runs in the UEFA Champions League, where they reached the semi-finals in the 1998-1999 season.
