History[edit | edit source]

The West Cornwall Pasty Company was founded in 1998 by Ken Cocking and his sons, who hail from St Just, Cornwall. The family had a background in the bakery business and decided to focus on the traditional Cornish pasty, a popular and iconic food item from their home region.

The company quickly expanded, opening outlets in train stations, airports, and high streets across the UK. In 2007, the business was sold to private equity firm Gresham Private Equity for a reported £40 million.

Products[edit | edit source]

The West Cornwall Pasty Company offers a range of Cornish pasties, made according to the traditional recipe. This includes the classic steak pasty, as well as variations such as chicken and vegetable, cheese and onion, and vegan options.

In addition to pasties, the company also sells a selection of other food items, including sandwiches, soups, and breakfast items. All products are prepared daily and baked on-site in each outlet.

Recognition[edit | edit source]

The West Cornwall Pasty Company has received numerous awards for its pasties, including the "World's Best Pasty" at the World Pasty Championships. The company is also recognised as a significant contributor to the Cornish economy and the promotion of Cornish food culture.
